I participated in an Twitter Chat around Education. It took me awhile to find something worthwhile, there is no such thing as an inventory for these things from what I could find. BUT, I did find www.participate.com and that guided me to a great resource. #EngageChat is a weekly chat session moderated by @DavisWelcome that focuses on engagement in schools. Every Friday evening at 8:00 PM Eastern. March 3, 2017, 5:00-6:00PST. What group norms did you observe? The group is there for a reason and is very reflective in practice. There wasn't as much commentary, as there was encouragement. The resources shared were great, and I love how they are archived so you can go back and review them.
What did you learn from this chat? "Courageous Teacher Leaders" was the focus. How to have the courage to push yourself as a teacher and leader to up your game with student engagement. I am just really intrigued by this ongoing professional learning idea. I will be joining more of these, and hope to find more that are targeted to what I want. What a fantastic resource, being able to make connections with people who are looking at similar things across the world.
Was it helpful to your practice/Capstone or not? This topic was not perfect to my focus or action research, but it was a great way to dip my toe into this world. Very interesting, and loved the idea that people from all over the world were joining. I was just a participant in this one, didn't have too much to say, but was certainly inspired by what others did.
